Fly fish the upper Rio Grande in Tierra del Fuego,
Argentina for trophy sea run brown trout. The Rio Grande flows from
East to West, from the Andes to the Atlantic Ocean, through 70 km
of Argentine territory.
Established in 1997, Toon Ken Lodge is situated
just upstream of its sister lodge, Kau Tapen, on the Rio Grande.
Toon Ken enjoys some of the most productive pools on the upper river.
Custom-built in 2003, the new Toon Ken lodge was
designed to offer fly fishers maximum comfort during their fishing
trip, as well as easy accessibility to the pools. The newly designed
lodge has been re-located on a high bluff overlooking the river.
Modern conveniences assure comfort and a fine staff see to every
detail.
Toon Ken has an enviable reputation as having some
of the most intimate stretches of the Rio Grande. Floating line
fishing is the norm for most of the season and the lodge record
stands at 30lbs.
Toon Ken offers wonderful cuisine based on local
meats, fresh vegetable and delicious deserts. A traditional Asado
(BBQ) will be held once during your stay, and you can sample different
cuts of meat and wonderful salads and a full cooked breakfast is
available, together with fresh fruit, yogurts, home baked breads
and jams and a selection of cereals.
Toon Ken Lodge accommodates up to 7 guests in 2
twin rooms and 3 single rooms, all en suite.
Drift a dry fly over Sea-Run Trout that average
better than 12 pounds, or find the Southern Cross in a sea of stars
each night.
