About Us

Travelling Fly Fisher is owned and operated by Tomas and Katrina Kucera and our vision is to share our love of fly fishing and travel as well as the destinations, experiences and knowledge gained along the way.

Tomas has been fly fishing since he was a young boy; first learning the skill in South Africa, then tuning in his desire after moving to Australia and frequenting Victoria and Tasmania with a fly rod in hand.

In the late 1980's Tomas managed Wayne Wilson's 'Fisherman Coast to Coast' tackle store in Frankston and in the early 90's Tomas's dedicated passion for fly fishing really came to light when he worked for Andrew Brzoz at 'Australian Fly Fisherman'. Andrew introduced Tomas to catch and release, fly fishing in all environments and many interesting people.

Tomas operated Daylesford Fly Fishing Tours (2000 to 2002) and the Columbia Fly Fishing Club (till 2005). Tomas also hosted several trips to Tasmania with Garry Castles to enable fly fishers to experience the excellent private fishery at
Lake Frodgem.

Katrina Kucera has been a travel professional for over 20 years, arranging adventurous and luxurious holidays for many people over the years to all destinations. Katrina is well travelled and has great love of Africa which has led her to operate African Expert.
